Included are Harrison's memoranda of telephone conversations, meetings and other discussions, and unsorted correspondence, memoranda, and reports. These materials reflect Harrison's career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, particularly his tenure as Governor and President. Such topics as international financial relationships, central bank policy, and Federal Open market policy and operations are discussed. Participants and correspondents include Presidents Herbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt; members of the State, Treasury, and other government departments; Senators Carter Glass and Robert A. Taft as well as various state officials from New York and New Jersey; the Federal Reserve Board, Federal Reserve banks, and other national banks; government officials and bankers from foreign countries, particularly the Bank of England, the Bank of France, and the Reichsbank (Germany); the League of Nations and the Bank for International Settlements; and banking and brokerage firms, stock exchanges, and miscellaneous other individuals and organizations.
